Lisa Salters, an Upper Merion High School graduate, has built a distinguished career as one of the most respected journalists in sports and broadcast media. A former Penn State basketball player, she transitioned into journalism and quickly rose through the ranks, becoming the first West Coast correspondent for NewsOne in 1995 and later serving as a Los Angeles-based correspondent for ABC News. During that time, she covered major national and global stories, including the O.J. Simpson trials, the Oklahoma City bombing trials, the 1998 Winter Olympics, and the TWA Flight 800 investigation.
Since joining ESPN in 2000, Salters has become a prominent on-air presence, serving as the lead sideline reporter for NBA coverage on ABC and a longtime sideline reporter and co-producer for Monday Night Football. Her in-depth storytelling has also been featured on acclaimed programs like Outside the Lines and E:60, earning her multiple honors including a Gracie Award and a Sports Emmy. In recognition of her impact on sports media, she was inducted into the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame in 2017.
