Art Still, a Camden native and graduate of Camden High School, established himself as one of the most dominant defensive ends of his era. A four-year starter at the University of Kentucky, he earned SEC Player of the Year and All-American honors in 1977 before being selected second overall in the 1978 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs. Still went on to a 12-year NFL career with the Chiefs and Buffalo Bills from 1978 to 1989, becoming a cornerstone of the Chiefs’ defense.
A two-time team MVP, he led Kansas City in sacks six times and ranks third on the franchise’s all-time sack list with 72.5. His excellence was recognized with four Pro Bowl selections, multiple All-Pro and All-NFL honors, and five All-AFC selections. In recognition of his outstanding career, Still was inducted into the Chiefs Hall of Fame in 1998 and the College Football Hall of Fame in 2020.
